Winter Fun

Here are some great ideas for winter fun with your preschooler.  It's important to keep active, even when it's cold out.  Just bundle up, and enjoy!

Week of January 9-13

This week we are looking forward to things getting back to normal.  We were low on numbers last week, and we missed all our preschoolers who were on vacation or with their families.  We can't wait to see you again!

Our curriculum this week continues to be frosty!  We will be learning all about the Inuit people and their culture.  We're especially looking forward to building sugar cube igloos, and to bundling up as we pretend to be eskimos right here in our classroom.  Our other curriculum is as follows:

Social Studies: The Inuit people
Science: Sense of Taste
Math: Number 11
Literacy: The letter V
Shape of the month: Diamond
Color of the month: Blue
Spanish: Marketplace vocabulary
Show and Tell: My Favorite Vegetable

Please remember to dress your child appropriately for outdoor recess.  Although we are anticipating a mostly warm week, it's good to be prepared just in case it gets chilly!

Week of January 2-6

Welcome back!  We hope you had a great Winter Break.  We’re excited to see our preschoolers and hear all about the fun they had.  We’ve got some great things planned for this week.

Our curriculum is as follows:
Social Studies: Polar Regions
Science: Sense of Taste
Math: Review of numbers 1-10
Literacy: The letter D
Shape of the month: Diamond
Color of the month: Blue
Spanish: Marketplace vocabulary
Show and Tell: Free Choice

A big thanks to all the families and friends who came to support our preschoolers at their Winter Program.  It is so fun to watch them perform for the people they love most.  Thank you for sharing your children with us!
